Over at Hoggs Blog, my good friend David has issued himself a New Years Resolution challenge to fit back into his closet full of size 34 pants. The article on his blog site is a reprint & follow-up to his News & Record article that appeared in this past Tuesday or Wednesday's edition. Now I've known David and the Hoggard family for some time through hockey and social gatherings. His commitment to his family, friends, his blog and his occupation is second to none and his word is his bond...no hand shakes or signed contracts required. A Hoggard hug, a sip of Bourbon, a puff of smoke and you have a done deal. When his article starting generating comments (as most always do) I began to see a pattern of soldiers wanting to join-up with their Captain and head into the New Years Resolution battle zone together. In general folks are saying, "do it and I will follow" or "if it’s good enough for the Hogg then its good enough for me". In an attempt to aid and comfort our gallant warriors, I started to write a software program that would announce someone's New Years Resolution and help them to track their progress. With only a few passing days I have completed the basic code foundation and have it working in a very advance 'Bata' format. This means that it works...SOMETIMES...but most of the time it just craps out! I expect to have all of the bells and whistles finished and on-line by early next week if all goes well. It will be this format where I will announce to the world my New Years Resolution. Just in case you were wondering...completing this software program is not on my 'resolution' list...not even close!
