Twlight Zone. . .
Written by Ed Hathaway

In today's mail came one of many holiday catalogs wanting our gift giving money but the one from Pier 1 really caught out eyes. At first glance it was heading straight to the recycle bin but after a closer examination of the cover, something very strange fell over us. On the cover (click onto the picture to see the full size view) was a picture of a dog inside the car that looked just like our Chloe and the lady handing out the car window has a striking likeness of Ruth. The cu-de-graw was the car... Ruth owned a VW Bug while in college. Can you say Twilight Zone? How weird is this and how very odd for Pier 1 to select Ruth, Chloe and daCar to sport their holiday catalog.

Dinner 4 Twelve. . .

Last night we had dinner reservations complements of Tori (Uncle Frank's middle child). Now unlike most dinner reservations, 12 started this festive occasion however only 4 remand standing at the end (it is so good being top of the food chain). Add a few french fries, cold slaw, wine and Christmas music in the background, a lobster pre-Thanksgiving dinner has to become a new family tradition. A very special thank you Tori... may all your children's dreams come true.

The Front Porch Part Deux. . .

 Going to the airport during Thanksgiving time is always an adventure. Between flight delays, TSA screening lines, lost IDs and a whole host of people on the move... finding a safe corner to wait for Ma's plane to find Greensboro was an adventure. Having an internet phone helped pass the time going from one web site to the other. Not for any reason other then I could (a shout-out to Allegiant Air for providing a slice of free WiFi)! After our long lasting hugs and greetings Ma needed to find the W.C. and quickly. As we made our way through PTI seeking relief, Ma found her and Lynn's old store, The Front Porch. Right there for the whole world to see was The Front Porch smack in the middle of Greensboro's Airport. Boy, I sure hope 'Soc' the Bud Man can find the new location!

OMG. . .

Just the other day we woke to see that Mother Nature was having a little fun with us southern folk. Yes, it’s late November and snow has found the Brown Bark Plantation. All be it less then an inch it was just enough for local schools to be placed on a two hour delay and traffic jams in and out of the supermarkets. Getting snow around here is not unusual but getting it in November is! As the snow comes, so does the cold winds from Canada. Now one without the other is livable but being part of this unseasonable doubleheader really sucks big time! So much for global warming, Al Gore or WALL-E...

Been a little busy. . .

Sorry for not posting any new mindless dribble here at ‘the Fewer the Less’ but been a little busy leading up to and returning from Iceland (oh by the way, Iceland was magnificent!). Aside from the ‘day job’ ramping up for our busy season, I’ve been staying real busy during my off hours with a few web site designs, development and deployment. Below is just a small sample of what’s been happening with all those ‘0’ and ‘1’ you have been missing;

Jamaican Rays (Under Development), B'nai Shalom Day School - Completed, Team Sportsplex - Completed, 12 Gauge Comics (Under Contract), Triad Respiratory - Completed, Candyce Sellars - Completed, First Capital Commercial Funding, Inc. (Under Contract), Help Save Iceland (Under Initial Development), Coach Phil (Under Initial Development)

If this was not enough, just before leaving for Iceland, I released a new web site application called jSMS. You can read all about it at my software development site, Digital Access, USA. To date this program has been downloaded over 40,000 times since its initial release. The best part of this application is how few trouble tickets I received requesting technical support. As of today I’ve fielded a total of 20 requests for assistance. There is something to be said for good programming and a great manual! With the updated release of jSMS due out by years end, I’m anticipating a few more trouble tickets since the price tag for this upgrade will be a little higher then the original version.

So as you can tell… there has been no moss growing under this rolling stone!

I’ll close this post with one last word of advice… GET OUT AND VOTE!
